Last Saturday was literally the most beautiful day of the year to see Cotopaxi up close and personal. Mid-morning, the winds were flirting with the mountain top and the clouds that would later shroud the mountain were giving warning of things to come.

    I’ve been meaning to tell you that 5 years ago Ecuador media was already all over climate because of glacial melt water supply issues, way ahead of the US. How is that playing today?

    • We don’t hear a lot from the average Ecuadorian but it is a concern for many. But we’re in a country with a growing middle class; car purchases are up, gas usage is up, meat consumption is up. The modern middle class in South America is no different than the middle class of North America, in many respects.
