Our most recent trip took us to the coast. We decided to leave on a Sunday, which also happened to be Ecuador’s most recent election day. Because everyone of age is required to vote, we knew the roads would be a little less busier than usual. What we didn’t expect were the truckloads of people being picked up on sides of the highway to be taken to the polls.
Now this is what election day should mean – 100% turnout. I only wish we could get that in the US without making voting mandatory.
